A quote that’s stuck with me is from fellow Miami University alum P.J. O’Rourke, “Age and guile beat youth, innocence, and a bad haircut.”
To me, his message is about the patience and perseverance that comes with experience. We are now two years into our organizational relaunch at KEDCO. I knew it would take a few years to reset. A few weeks ago, I realized we are starting to hit our stride. We have an amazing team in place. We are working with clients and stakeholders to do incredibly important work, and we are learning and improving along the way. I’m getting back into running (occasionally) and it reminds me of the first mile. The first mile or so of your run is the most difficult and least enjoyable. Then it starts to click. And when it does, you know.
